Large oil painting on canvas representing a young boy with his cavalier dog King Charles signed lower right. This fine quality English painting dating from the 19th century was worked with an oil glaze overlay.
It has undergone heavy relining because the very fine original canvas is clearly visible at the signature (LLYou V)

I think this work was cut out on the right side because the signature is amputated. ..Note a tear clumsily restored on the dark background but which does not hinder the readability of the work. I will leave it as is.
