Biography:
Paul Thomas is the son of Auguste Thomas and Geneviève Louise Eugénie David.
He studied with Jules Lefebvre and Gustave Boulanger at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
He became a member of the Artistes Français from 1885.
In 1885, he was awarded the Second Grand Prix de Rome.
In 1887, he married Marie Madeleine Baschet (1868-1939; the couple lived in Paris).
He was awarded a 3rd-class medal in 1892, a second-class medal in 1893, and a silver medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition.
He was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1906.
He died at home on December 8, 1940.
