Signed lower left Henri VOLLET, dated 1888.
Student of Fernand Cormon, painter whose studio at the Beaux-Arts saw many artists pass through including Van Gogh, Lautrec, Lin Fengmian.
Honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes français in 1888, bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, 3rd class medal in 1891, 2nd class in 1897, knight of the Legion of Honor in 1904.
His works on Indochina can reach 40,000€ in public sales.
