Johann Balthasar Bauer
Painter and lithographer born in Frankfurt in 1811 and died in the same city in 1883.
From 1829 to 1834, he assiduously attended the Frankfurt School of Art. Initially a painter of religious subjects, he later painted landscapes and portraits.
Among his religious paintings we cite: "the prodigal son", "the feast of Easter". He executed scenes representing the creation of the world in the Carmelite church in Frankfurt.
