This miniature was produced on cardboard and probably dates from the late 17th or early 18th century. It depicts a nobleman wearing a wig and a rich costume.
The miniature is unsigned, but executed with a fine hand.
We would like to point out that it is in fair condition, with some small chips around the edges, some rubbing, micro-scratches on the paint and on the protective tile, and some wear on the gilding. There is no background.
Please note that the frame is later, Napoleon III, and is unfortunately cracked, missing, rubbed and glued twice at the top and bottom.
The whole is very attractive.
