Oil on canvas depicting a young redheaded woman with her hair tied up in a bun, sitting naked in the grass.
Great sensuality of the model painted in nature, signed lower right E.MONDINEU, 1910.
Etienne MONDINEU entered the Bordeaux Fine Arts School in 1888, then the Paris Fine Arts School in 1893 in the studio of Albert MAIGNAN, sponsored by JP LAURENS and B.CONSTANT. From 1897 he exhibited at the Salon des artistes français where he received an honorable mention. He won several distinctions in 1900 and 1908, the year he was awarded a prize out of competition. He could now exhibit without going through the jury selection.
A member of the Société des artistes français from 1902, he was at all the salons. He works on large compositions acquired by the state and preserved in public collections, but also focuses on other genres such as landscapes, intimate scenes; nudes and portraits.
