Sensual and desirable are the two words that come to mind when I see this painting by Paul Garin, his model is a young woman with short hair, she has a clear neck, turned to three quarters back, her face is slightly tilted, she seems to write or draw. Her body is partially covered by a large blanket that slips off her shoulders and reveals a breast.
Paul Garin was born in Nice in 1898, after a doctorate in law he devoted himself to painting. He died in 1963. He painted Provencal landscapes, ports of the French Riviera, views of Nice, some still lifes and portraits as well as nudes ... His studio was dispersed in 1998 at the Hotel Drouot. His works are in numerous private collections and in the Museum of Nice.
