Original work signed lower left, sold with the frame. Charles BETOUT (1869-1945) was a French theater costume designer and collaborator of Charles Bianchini. He designed the costumes for the Paris Opera from 1905 to 1907 and was then head costume designer of the Comédie Française between 1919 and 1939.
