Roger Blaquière, born in Paris on July 4, 1933, is a French painter and sculptor.
Born in Paris on July 4, 1933, Roger Blaquière first studied at the Arts Appliqués and then at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, where in 1958 he was awarded the first Prix d'Art Monumental and a scholarship to the Casa de Velasquez in Madrid, where he stayed in 1959.
In 1961, he was awarded the second Prix de Rome for painting, followed by the first Grand Prix in 1963. From 1964 to 1967, he stayed at the Villa Médicis under the direction of Balthus.


Roger Blaquière's work is multi-faceted. Painting is the main theme, but he is also drawn to other areas of research. Textiles in the 1970s and 80s. Linocut since 1965. Artists' books and illustrations for the works of his writer friends. Modeling, terracotta and large-format paintings conceived as environmental elements.
