Georgi Daskaloff was born in Sofia, Bulgaria and attended the art school of Sofia University, graduating in 1949. He "defected" to the West in 1960, living in Paris and exposing Galerie Jacques Massol before moving to New York and having great success there. His works are present in many American museums including the Metropolitan Museum.
