by Johann Heirich KELLER, born in Zurich in 1692 and died in The Hague in 1765. He was the son of Basel sculptor Johann Jakob Keller (1665-1747 ), apprenticed for 3 years to Basel landscape painter Andreas Hotzmüller and continued his studies in Munich under Nicolaus Stuber ,From 1723/1724, he attended the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, thanks to a scholarship he received on the recommendation of Hyacinthe Rigaud. In 1726, while making frequent trips to Switzerland, he settled in The Hague as a decorative painter, where he produced numerous works for the region's stately homes, princely palaces (such as Het Loo Palace) and noble residences. Keller is interesting to study because of his style, a blend of David Teniers and Watteau, from which he drew much of his inspiration for this painting.
