This anecdotal scene shows a group of Bretons eating at an open-air stall, perhaps an excerpt from a village fête. The scene is dated 1921 and can be placed in Brittany, probably in the Bigouden region of Cornouaille. The woman's headdress is reminiscent of some of the women in Gauguin's Pont-Aven paintings.
