    A charming and decorative oil on canvas, signed lower left Labatie, depicting a gallant scene, a Fileuse in Italy of the first third of the 19th century.

     

    In its original gilded wood frame, this elegant Italian school by a follower of Léopold Robert, Romantic period circa 1830.

     

    Sizes unframed:  H 28.74 Inches. -W 23.62 Inches.

    Sizes with frame: H 39.37 Inches. - W 31.10 Inches.

     

    Biography:

     

    Labatie was active in the first half of the 19th century. Painter of genre scenes and still lifes, and a follower of the famous painter Léopold Robert.
