H. RENAUD (1921-1990) - "Busy Boulevard in Paris"
Listed : Artprice and various others
Reference Code : 81HST6F-H.RENAUD
DETAILS
Oil on original canvas, signed lower right. Probably after the work of Jean BERAUD (1849-1935) entitled "Kiosque de Paris" (ca.1882-1884).
Stunning animated scene composed of multiple miscellaneous figures and located at the crossroads of 2 Grands Boulevards in Paris.
A typical scene of the Belle Epoque era with its elegant women coming to do their shopping on the Parisian Grands Boulevards, its men dressed in their long coats and wearing top hats, its horse-drawn carriages, its buildings whose the ground floor was often occupied by a store/shop and a famous "MORRIS" column named after its inventor Gabriel MORRIS in 1868.
A great mastery of the subject in the broadest sense of the term but also in the execution of the smallest details, in the constant search for movement as well as in the precision and subtlety of the touches.
