An elegant Parisian scene
This superb painting depicts a graceful woman in a sumptuous pink dress, strolling with refinement along the Place de l'Étoile, in front of the Arc de Triomphe. Eugène Leliepvre's impressionist touch and luminous palette lend this work a timeless, romantic atmosphere, typical of female portraits of the Belle Époque.
The influence of artists such as Jean-Gabriel Domergue and Pierre Gatier is perceptible in this work, which follows in the great tradition of 20th-century portraits of elegant women.
