Very large oil on canvas depicting Cupid asleep, with probably Psyche looking on.
A difficult-to-read inscription in the lower right speaks of Psyche and her two sisters (the two women shown in the lower left?).
Signed Antoine Marie RAYNOLT, circa 1925-1930.
Born in Toulouse in 1874, this landscape painter, illustrator and decorator was a pupil of Benjamin Constant and Jean Paul Laurens. A member of the Artistes Français since 1905, he exhibited at their Salon, winning awards in 1897 and 1902.
