    Lovely oil on canvas by the painter Henry (sometimes spelled Henri) Vollet. Contemporary and close to the school of Pont-Aven, Henry Vollet made many stays in Brittany before settling in Faoüet in the 1920s. In a style combining the ethnographic appeal of Realism with the Impressionist touch, he rendered with modesty of the moments of daily life in Brittany. His works are distinguished in particular by their peaceful and gentle character expressed by an admirable mastery of the rendering of light. Several of his works are now preserved and exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
