Beautiful solid wood frame

Our painting is a study in the style of 19th-century naturalist painters. The solidity of the brushstrokes is remarkable, as is the power of the whites and the strong luminosity that emanates from the painting, all characteristics that recall in particular the art of Jules Bastien-Lepage and perhaps even more so Alfred Roll. As art critic Paul Vitry noted at the time, "his animals, nudes and portraits are bathed in luminous rays. They drink in the sun. But their solid reality persists nonetheless".
