Born in 1820 in Calais (Pas-de-Calais). Died in 1870.

19th century. Frenchman.

Painter of genre scenes, typical subjects, nudes, landscapes, cityscapes, waterscapes, seascapes, watercolorist, pastellist. Orientalist.

Pupil of Alexandre Gabriel Decamps. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1841 to 1867.
He painted some landscapes of Normandy and Provence, but above all views of the Maghreb countries.
