    Geneviève Gavrel, born in 1909 in Téboursouk in Tunisia, is a French painter known for her landscapes, portraits and still lifes. She studied at the École des beaux-arts in Tunis under the direction of Pierre Boyer and Armand Vergeaud. In 1957, she moved to Saint-Maur-des-Fossés and became a member of several prestigious salons, including the Société nationale des beaux-arts and the Salon d’automne. Her work is associated with the École de Paris and the École de Saint-Maur. Gavrel died on January 25, 1999 in Revel, Haute-Garonne.

    A similar painting is exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Archbishops' Palace of Narbonne, inventory no. 2023.1.1.
