Jan van Goyen (entourage)
Jan Josephsz. van Goyen (Leiden, January 13, 1596 – The Hague, April 27, 1656) was a Dutch (United Provinces) landscape painter and designer of the Golden Age.
The painting apparently depicts the beach near Egmond in the Netherlands.
Scene of selling fish directly on the beach, recurrent at one time.
The painting does not seem complete, the sails of the boats in the background are only sketched, but the painting technique is very similar to that of Van Goyen, very drawn, without too many details, almost caricatured, a fairly common at this time in Dutch painting.
