Very nice representation of the entrance to the Old Port of Marseille with Fort Saint-Jean on the left, a multitude of sailboats and the Mediterranean Sea of a particularly bright blue. Paul FLAUBERT offers us an eminently animated marine scene with bright and contrasting colors and numerous details; in this regard, note the presence of the French flag at the top of the mast of several sailboats as well as that of 2 sailors either lowering a sail or hoisting it (tall ship on the right). A luminous and extremely pleasant work.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Paul FLAUBERT was a fan of scenes with figures, hunting scenes, landscapes, landscapes with figures, winterscapes, urban landscapes and waterscapes. His style is neatly influenced by the impressionist movement that we find everywhere in his work and in which he has excelled throughout his career. The simultaneous use of the 2 styles, one by a multitude of touches in the execution of the "background" of his works and the other in a "smoothed" style in order to better bring out the figures or the subjects he wanted to put forward, testifies to this.
A tremendous and subtle painter, increasingly present on the World Art Market and in multiple collections and whose progress continues to prove (especially in the UK and in the USA).
