Naval combat between the corvette Decius led by Captain Senez* (from 1794 to 1796, he was Lieutenant de vaisseau commanding the corvette Le Decius) and the English frigate HMS Lapwing led by Captain Robert Barton, which took place on 26/11/1796.

On the reverse, an antique label bearing the following inscriptions in ink: Pour C... de Brayer combat de la corvette de Décius Capitaine Senez. Against the English frigate Lapwing Captain Robert Barton. The corvette was sunk with 117 men out of 124 disabled.
