Beautiful marine painting by François Carbu, depicting a coastal landscape, where the slightly choppy sea heralds a coming storm. François Carbu (real name Carbuccia) was born in Ajaccio in 1896 and probably died in Brittany, where he lived most of his life.
He was a member of the "Artistes de Montmarte" and "Groupe des Fusains" associations, and a life member of the Baron Taylor Foundation. He exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1934 and in other major cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, etc. He painted mainly Breton seascapes.
