French school of the 18th century, probably Provençal, representing a Mediterranean seaside, animated by many characters unloading goods, 3-masted boats sailing on the sea. In the center, an island with a fort, in the background on the left, a port city. It is originally a canvas integrated into a woodwork of a private mansion in Nice from the 18th century.
The 18th century canvas is composed of several strips of sewn canvas (18th century technique). It was relined, put on a stretcher and in a gilded wooden frame in the middle of the 20th century.
Beautiful set of great decoration, very cheerful with its blue sky and large format. Ideal for decorating a vestibule, a stairwell or even a dining room or a living room.
In very good condition, painting cleaned, ready to hang.
