13 x 19.5 cm (19 x 25 cm with the frame)

Very pretty old baguette decorated with frieze and laurels

Spanish painter born in Ruzafa, Valencia. He learned the art of engraving under the direction of Rocafort. He was a student of Mariano Liñán before continuing his teaching in Paris, at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He then returned to Spain where he was appointed professor of engraving at the Academy of San Carlos in Valencia.
He painted mainly portraits and seascapes.
Our painting, although small, is a real portrait of a boat. The colors are beautiful, especially the magnificent blue of the sea. It is dated 1889.
