Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg ( 1833-1904) A well-known French painter specializing in landscapes, in the tradition of the Barbizon School.
His favorite subjects were the ports of Brittany and Normandy, as well as the North Sea and Alpine villages.
In 1855, Kuwasseg exhibited regularly at the Salon, where he won numerous awards, and later became an art teacher.
He mastered the art of contrast and demonstrated great finesse in his execution.
Some of Charles Kuwasseg's works (oil on canvas or panel) can be seen at the Rouen and Rennes Fine Arts Museums and at the Maltwood Art Museum at the University of Victoria (Canada).
