Original oil on board, signed lower right.
Wonderful colorful work by the artist depicting a scene of 7 walkers chatting on the edge of a lake and watching 2 passing sailboats. A scene full of charm in the middle of a luxuriant nature so present in the painter's works, embellished here with its rich foliage and a no less rich bed of leaves.
Note the mixture of impressionist and pointillist styles that Paul FLAUBERT frequently likes to use in order to obtain a contrast between the overall environment of the work and the details that he wishes to highlight (here the characters, the tree trunks and the sailboats). Gorgeous !

Painting : in almost perfect condition (Few barely visible age wear marks).
Frame : very pretty black and gilt molded wooden frame in good overall condition (age wear marks, small lacks, few scuffs on protruding edges and tiny screw hole at top center).

Paul FLAUBERT was a fan of scenes with figures, hunting scenes, landscapes, landscapes with figures, winterscapes, urban landscapes and waterscapes. His style is neatly influenced by the impressionist movement that we find everywhere in his work and in which he has excelled throughout his career. The simultaneous use of the 2 styles, one by a multitude of touches in the execution of the "background" of his works and the other in a "smoothed" style in order to better bring out the figures or the subjects he wanted to put forward, testifies to this.
A tremendous and subtle painter, increasingly present on the World Art Market and in multiple collections and whose progress continues to prove.
