Painting in oil on canvas depicting a wooded landscape, titled on the back "La fin de l'hiver" ("The end of winter") and signed by Jean Paul Barre (a pupil of Paul Guimezanes and then Edmond Bertreux), an artist who has held numerous exhibitions and is particularly inspired by the seasons and nature.
Biography:
Strongly influenced by Corot, the Barbizon School and the German and English Romantics, he traveled to museums in France, Great Britain, Holland and Switzerland to learn the techniques of the 19th-century masters.
From 1976 onwards, exhibitions followed one another in Saint-Brévin, Pornic, Deauville and elsewhere.
Turned professional in 1985, he exhibits regularly:
- Galerie Bernier, Nantes.
- at the Salon du Val de Cher: first prize in 1993.
- in Paris, at the Salon des Indépendants.
