Oil painting (dated 1990 and signed) on wood panel by Belgian artist Tony Reniers (1923-2013). I think it refers to the village of Sault (capital of lavender in the Vaucluse). The painter loved and painted Provence for many years, and his work is prolific. His vivid, colorful brushstrokes capture the light of the region. See Paul Piron's 2003 book and a monograph published in Brussels in 2004. Size 70 x 50 framed.
