We have been unable to identify the artist, who bears the initials "CR"; a pencil inscription on the back reads "Georges".
It probably refers to Venice. You'll notice a lovely colored background. This is an early 20th-century work with a gilded frame.
The work has not been restored, but we note some rubbing and scratches, particularly above the dome, as well as stains and small paint chips under the boat. It remains in a decent state of preservation.
The gilding on the cade is missing and worn.
