This beautifully crafted oil on canvas depicts a coastal landscape in Plounéour-Trez, a former commune located on the north coast of the Finistère department in Brittany. It merged with Brignogan-Plages to form the new commune of Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages.
Georges Levreau (1867-1936) was a French painter born in Nantes. His work consists of numerous portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. He is responsible for the decor of the Italian-style theater in La Roche-sur-Yon. He is also known for his decor for the La Cigale brasserie in Nantes, which he completed in 1895.
