Mieczysław Lurczyński studied painting in Warsaw with Blanche Mercère and Adam Rychtarski (pl). He exhibited in several Polish cities, including: at the Zachęta National Art Gallery in Warsaw. He was also a writer, publishing poetry and plays. During the Second World War, he joined the Home Army resistance movement. Arrested in 1943 and sent to Buchenwald. After the Liberation, he lived in Hanover until 1949, then settled permanently in Paris.
