Joseph Vincent Nicholas Francis Weiss, known as José Weiss, is a landscape painter born in France but who went to live and paint in Sussex, England. He lived in Houghton in Sussex and painted landscapes there, often with a river and trees, in a style close to the Barbizon School. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in London and enjoyed success with an American clientele in particular.
His paintings are present in collections and museums in the United Kingdom and North America (National Gallery of Canada, Winnipeg, Chicago, St Louis, Dublin.
