Sumptuous execution in the impressionist style so dear to the artist, representing a small hamlet made up of a few houses in the middle of flower gardens and trees of various species. Lover of nature and stones, the painter invites us to join him in his landscape with bright and frank colors from which emerges a beautiful luminosity and an extreme sensitivity. We will note a tendency to "pointillism" by the presence of small touches in certain selected places of the painting, a pictorial technique that we will find more distinctly in various works by Jacques GAUTHERIN. Very nice frame.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Self-taught painter born in 1929, particularly influenced by impressionism and then at a certain point in his artistic life, by lyrical abstraction, Jacques GAUTHERIN is a "post-war and contemporary" French artist best known for his Post-impressionistic and Neo-impressionistic landscapes. He mainly painted the South of France including the Mediterranean coast (landscapes of Provence and Riviera) but also the landscapes and coasts of Brittany and Normandy, ports, houses and their gardens, paddocks, large hotels and prestigious places. without forgetting the portraits and still-lifes but in a more occasional way.
Jacques GAUTHERIN attaches particular importance to light and contrasts and it shows. The rich palette of colors with which he gratifies us is found throughout his work, infusing the impressionist and pointillist styles that characterize him with a remarkable depth and modernity.
