This painting is signed J Suchet

Joseph Suchet was a painter from Marseilles (1824-1896), who studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and became a specialist in landscapes, especially seascapes. He depicted the life of fishermen in the Marseille region and coastal landscapes with great realism.
Many of his works are held in museums, including the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Marseille and the Musée Cantini.
