Original oil on original canvas, signed lower left.
Paris, the Pont Saint-Michel animated by various figures that we can easily guess and the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral, a little further away.
To the left of the bridge, the Boulevard du Palais leads us to the Ile de la Cité bordered by the famous Quai des Orfèvres; to the right, we head towards the no less famous Place Saint-Michel. Illustrious site that Elisabeth ANSELME executes here admirably, in a slightly "blurred" style, a trademark of the painter that we find in most of his landscapes, where the details are not lacking nor even the green touch on the right side of the work. Pretty soft and bright colors, a very pleasant and very interesting painting from the point of view of pictorial technique.

CONDITION
Painting : Excellent general condition (a few rare small cracks, a few tiny paint splashes (small white dots) and a tiny pinhole at the top right in the edge (natural flaw in the canvas)).
Frame : gilded/coppered and molded frame, with interior frieze with vertical streaks, in good overall condition (age wear marks and some slight lacks) - Nice patina - The frame is slightly warped but this does not affect the frame of the painting (stretcher).

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born on November 14, 1923 in Bourges, Louise-Elisabeth ANSELME-CHARMASSON (Elisabeth ANSELME from her maiden name) is a French painter of nudes, flowers and urban landscapes.
She took art classes organized by the Municipality of Paris. She began exhibiting at the "key" annual Paris Salons in 1969, including Le Salon des Artistes Indépendants, Le Salon des Artistes Français where she received an honorable mention in 1979, and Le Salon d'Automne.
Every year, she organized personal exhibitions of her works in Paris and also exhibited in numerous galleries including those in the city of Riom as well as abroad. She died in 2010.
