Charles BELBÉOC'H, painter born November 15, 1926 in Cormery and died August 26, 2006 in Saint Avertin - Indre-et-Loire - (Ec. Fr.).
A painter of landscapes and genre scenes, Charles Belbéoc'h was divided between his family's Breton origins, with harbor views and maritime scenes, and his native Touraine, where he painted landscapes of the countryside and the streets of Tours.
Noted early on for his talent and the personal touch in his painting, he was a Companion of European Artistic Merit, and in 1986 was awarded the bronze medal following a highly acclaimed exhibition at a salon held in that city. He also received numerous regional and international awards. In 2001, he took part in a highly successful group exhibition alongside Lucienne Berthon, Michèle Delaunay, Hervé Richard, André Bourneuf, Evgueni Kolodyev and Jean Groussin.
This work, an oil on panel from the 1980s, titled "Le ramandage", reflects his talent. The composition is vibrant with color and movement. Signature lower right.
