Alfred Casile, a French painter, was born in Marseille on February 9, 1848, and died in the same city on June 1, 1909.
He was a pupil of Antoine Guillemet and became acquainted with the painters Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sysley and Claude Monet.
In 1891, he married Constance Dutoint, his youngest daughter marrying the painter Mathieu Verdilhan.
His pictorial work is closely related to that of Eugene-Louis Boudin, who painted many landscapes of the Normandy countryside.

His work is exhibited in numerous museums, including the Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence, the Musée Calvet in Avignon, the Musée des Beaux Arts in Béziers, the Musée Cantini in Marseille and the Musée de Grenoble.
