Albert MALET offers us a rich and deep work exalted by powerful colors but nevertheless always with a soothing rendering and a permanent fervor of the smallest detail. A wonderful painting masterfully executed.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
A pupil of Robert Antoine PINCHON, Albert MALET began to paint in 1931. Pure impressionist, disciple of the Norman School and the School of Rouen, he is considered one of the best painters of his generation and, from 1936, is admitted to the Salon des Artistes Rouennais in which he regularly participates. He also exhibited three works at the Salon de l'École Française at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris in 1942.
Albert MALET is buried in Claville-Motteville where he was a teacher from 1947 to 1960. -
"Normandy is now dependent on a lasting duty towards one of its artists: Albert MALET, this pure impressionist, intimately attached to the Norman school, sought-after disciple of the School of Rouen and undisputed descendant of the Masters of this School. . Indeed, in 1942, aged 30, shortly before the death of his mentor Robert Antoine PINCHON, Albert MALET revealed, at Galerie LEGRIP in Rouen, his fine talent as an interpreter of the Normandy countryside and the banks of the Seine. Thus, his masterful qualities of evoking the finesse and freshness of regional landscapes over the seasons followed one another, which he modulated throughout his art with his instinctive charm as a colourist. He implemented a pictorial poetry all in nuances and in balance which placed him incontestably as one of the masters of current painting, and particularly of a School of Rouen constantly rediscovered in multiple tendencies which are renewed thanks to the talent artists who compose it and who had the privilege of accessing the advice and teachings of Albert MALET. The recognition due to him is infinite and the tributes that Albert MALET arouses are overwhelming by the durability of his talent, the simple words that cannot fully describe the lively and unalterable magic of his creative emotion".
"Student and friend of Robert Antoine Pinchon, one of the Masters of the Norman School from whom he was inspired, he manages, by the nuance of his colors, to translate the subtlety of the light of the Seine Valley. Planting his easel randomly along the Norman itineraries, he captures on the canvas the fleeting atmosphere which separates the planes and makes the tones vibrate".
