After his death in Paris in 1970, a tribute was paid to him in 1972 at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles. Paintings by Berçot in the 1960s were exhibited in 1982 at Callian (25 paintings), in the Var region of France (testimonials by Georges Pillement, Michel Seuphor, Geer van Velde, Guy Weelen and Gildo Caputo).
In 2003, on the occasion of the donation by Ginette Faivre, the painter's sister, to the Musée d'art et d'histoire de Belfort, a Paul Berçot exhibition was held at the museum, bringing together some 50 paintings (including 27 from the bequest) and drawings (out of 320).
