Born in 1946 in Colombes, he began painting very early and was quickly considered a young prodigy. He presented his first works in Parisian galleries in 1958. In 1961, he was accepted among the first in the entrance examination for the School of Fine Arts in Paris. In 1970, he obtained his diploma from the Ecole des Beaux -Arts. He left Paris and settled in Marseille, the city of his ancestors, in 1972.

His works were presented by the Senate at the Orangerie of the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris in 2011.
