Lucien JOVENEAUX, painter born in Lille in 1927 and died in 1996 in Saint-Sébastien sur Loire (Loire Atlantique). Son of a railway worker, he learned the profession of painter and decorator at the age of fifteen. A worker painter, he taught painting and drawing at the North apprenticeship center and then specialized in industrial painting. The SNCF noticed his talent and commissioned several posters from him, including that of the TGV Atlantique. He settled in Brittany from 1982.
This beautiful work, an oil on canvas depicting boats in port in the mist, dates from the 1970s, when Lucien Joveneaux had his studio in Eaubonne (Val d'Oise).
