Trumeau mirror after François Boucher 18th century.
Interesting and pretty little trumeau, vertical in shape with a semicircular arch top, this narrow trumeau called "between two windows" is a work of the middle of the 18th century.
The painted wooden frame surrounding the mirror and the painting is made up of a fir frame assembled with tenons and mortises, dressed in applied moldings treated in a still Regency style, the strip is carved with bundles of rushes held by staples in leaves, we note that the lower part of the frame has been added (crosses below the molding).
The painting in the upper part which is the original one is an oil on canvas made after the painting painted in 1748 by François Boucher, and exhibited at the Salon of 1750, the canvas is in good condition, it is not doubled, it is visible on the back of the trumeau, there is a small restoration and very small holes.
The mirror in the lower part is mercury, it seems to be the original one, it shows some wear mainly in the lower part.
