Provencal trumeau in carved wood, lacquered and gilded with gold leaf. It is adorned with a trophy of gardening and musical attributes suspended by a ribbon (hat, shovel, bagpipe, sheet music). Elegant Louis XVI period production (18th century, circa 1780), typical of Provencal production around Aix-en-Provence.
Original gold leaf gilding, glittering 2-part mercury glass, also 18th century. A highly decorative piece, it is tall but narrow, which has the advantage of being multi-purpose: it can be placed on a mantelpiece, on a piece of furniture, between 2 windows. Made entirely from 18th-century materials, our trumeau is lightweight and easy to hang.
All in excellent condition. The gilding has been restored by our gilder.
