Elegant 19th century English table psyche in mahogany and mahogany veneer sometimes called: "barber".
The elegance of the piece comes surprisingly from the absence of a drawer at the base, which lightens and balances its silhouette.
The rectangular top with rounded corners rests on an overflow base of the same shape with soft roundness placed on four flattened round feet.
The mirror is supported by two turned constricted columns ending in two elegant tops.
The mirror frame cleverly echoes the roundness of the base. It is a tone lighter than the whole which highlights the mirror in excellent condition.
The pivoting is ensured by two magnificent mechanisms from the still very famous Crofts & Assinder house in Birmingham which still claims to "specialize in the design and manufacture of luxury decorative equipment". The refinement extends to the signature of the two pieces visible in the photos.
This  psyche is in very good general condition. Note, however, the usual restorations consisting of two small veneer grafts visible in close-up in the photos while located at the back they are very barely visible and just attest to the age of the piece.
This psyche to stand will undoubtedly seduce you with its elegance and refinement. It will find its place on a chest of drawers, a dressing table or an entryway unit to brighten up and illuminate your interior.
