A rare mirror by Lothar Klute (1946), illustrating the skills of an exceptional designer who combines the power of forged bronze with the delicacy of crystal. The bronze outer frame features sculptural organic forms, giving the ensemble a shaped, refined presence. The solid crystal inner frame, with its rich, irregular textures, captures the light and magnifies the reflection, bringing an almost liquid dimension to the composition.
Lothar Klute is best known for his coffee tables and side tables, but his mirrors, almost 40 years after their creation, are now very rare.
