Large Louis XVI period carved and gilded wood mirror.
Rectangular in shape and inspired by neoclassical ornamentation, the uprights are adorned with openwork laurel garlands and leafy branches. These branches and garlands extend from the top and bottom of the mirror through small parecloses.
They are found in the lower crosspiece of the mirror, tied in the middle of the mirror with a beautiful Louis XVI knot.
A large basket of flowers, decorated with gadroons, is framed by garlands of laurel, oak branches and acorns.
The two-part mirror has a lovely mercury tint with some wear and iridescence.
Neoclassical work from the Louis XVI period, last quarter of the 18th century.
