In the shape of a truncated cone, covered in sky blue cloth, bordered on the upper part with a 30mm braid in gold trimmings, sides of the headdress trimmed with the same chevron-shaped braid with sky blue net, bourdalou in black patent leather, flaming grenade with “SPECIAL MILITARY SCHOOL” banner, in gilded brass. Ribbed white metal roundels painted in the tricolor blue-white-red colors.
False chinstrap chin strap with gold brass curb chain held by two large module buttons stamped with a flaming grenade, black patent leather visor surrounded by a gold brass bangle.
Inner cap in black leather, size marking: 60 1/2, chinstrap in blackened and patent leather held by two small leather tabs themselves attached to the ventilation eyelets.
In the bottom of the cap, stamp in the name of the manufacturer "ETts J.BARRAU - PARIS"
Golden officer's pompom.
