SABRE OF OFFICER OF THE ROYAL GENDARMERIE, model 1816, Restoration.

Brass guard with four branches, short tail cap engraved on the top with a fleur-de-lis, wooden handle covered in black waxed calf (watermark missing). Curved blade with hollow sides and fullers. It is engraved "GENDARMERIE ROYALE" inside a rectangular cartouche ending with a fleur-de-lis, signed on the heel "Manufacture royale de Klingenthal Coulaux Frères", gilded and blued on its first third. Blade length 93.8 cm, width at the heel 3 cm. Leather tie.
Steel scabbard with two brass bail bracelets, with brass rings. Good general condition
